AD9106The TxDACs® and waveform generators are high-performance quad DACs with integrated on-chip mode
memorizer, for complex waveform generation, with a direct digital synthesizer (DDS). The DDS is a 12-bit output, up to 180 MHz host clock sine wave generator with a 24-bit tuning word supporting a frequency resolution of 10.8 Hz/LSB. The DDS has a single frequency output for all four DACs and an independent programmable phase-shift output for each DAC.
SRAM data may include directly generated memory waveforms, amplitude modulation modes applied to DDS outputs, or DDS frequency tuning words.
A built-in mode control state machine allows the user to program the mode period for all four DACs and the start delay during the period of each DAC channel signal output.
The SPI interface is used to configure the digital waveform generator and load the pattern into SRAM.
Gain and offset adjustments are performed as the digital signal is transmitted to the four DACs.
The AD9106 offers excellent ac and dc performance and supports DAC sample rates up to 180 MSPS. The flexible operating supply range (1.8 V to 3.3 V) and low power consumption of the AD9106 make it ideal for portable and low power applications.
