AD9993is a mixed-signal front-end (MxFE)® device that integrates four 14-bit ADCs and two 14-bit DACs. Figure 1 shows a block diagram of this MxFE. MxFE can be programmed by accessing registers through a serial peripheral interface (SPI). The ADC and DAC data paths include FIFO buffers that absorb the phase difference between the LVDS channel clock and the data converter sample clock.
MxFE DACs are part of Analog Devices' family of high speed CMOS DAC cores. These DACs are designed for use with wide bandwidth communication system transmitter (Tx) signal chains.
MxFE ADCs are multistage, pipelined CMOS ADC cores designed for use in communication receivers.
