ADuM3224/ADuM4224 is
4 A isolated half-bridge gate driver, using Analog Devices
iCoupler® technology that provides independent and isolated high-side and low-side outputs. The ADuM3224 provides 3000 V rms isolation in a narrow 16-lead SOIC package, while the ADuM4224 provides 5000 V rms isolation in a wide-body 16-lead SOIC package. These isolation devices combine high-speed CMOS with monolithic transformer technology and have excellent performance characteristics over alternative devices such as pulse transformer and gate driver combinations.
The ADuM3224/ADuM4224 isolators each provide two independent isolation channels. These devices operate from a supply voltage of 3.0 V to 5.5 V and are compatible with low voltage systems. The ADuM3224/ADuM4224 offer true galvanic isolation between the input and outputs compared to gate drivers using the high voltage level shifting method. Each output can operate continuously up to 560 VPEAK relative to the input, allowing low-side switching to negative voltage. Differential voltages between the high and low sides can be up to 800 VPEAK。
As a result, the ADuM3224/ADuM4224 can reliably control the switching characteristics of IGBT/MOSFET configurations over a wide range of positive or negative switching voltages.
