8 solder balls for micro SMD chip size packs, (see AN-1112)
Internal frequency compensation for unity gain
Large DC voltage gain: 100 dB
Wide bandwidth (unity gain): 1 MHz (temperature compensated)
Wide power supply range:
Single supply: 3V to 32V
or dual supplies: ± 1.5V to ± 16V
The very low supply current consumption (500μA) is essentially a separate supply voltage
Low input offset voltage: 2 mV
The input common-mode voltage range includes ground
The differential input voltage range is equal to the supply voltage
Large output voltage swing
illustrate
The LM158 series consists of two independent high gain, internal frequency compensation op amps designed to operate over a voltage range from a single supply. Operation from splitting the power supply is also possible and low supply current consumption is independent of the magnitude of the supply voltage.
Applications include sensor amplifiers, DC gain blocks, and all conventional op amp circuits that can now be more easily implemented in single-supply systems. For example, the directly operable LM158 series, which is used in digital systems, would be easy to provide the required electronic interface standard +5 V supply voltage without the need for an additional ± 15V power supply.
LM358 and LM2904 are micro SMD packaging technologies used in a chip size package (8 solder ball micro SMD).
