The LP2989 is a fixed output of 500 mA, and the precision LDO regulator is designed with the use of ceramic output capacitors.
Output noise can be reduced to 18μV (typical) by connecting an external 10 nF capacitor bypass pin.
In the process of using the optimized VIP ™ (vertically integrated PNP), the LP2989 provides superior performance:
Differential pressure: typically 310 mV @ 500 mA load, and 1 mV @ 100μA load.
Ground pin current: typically 3 mA @ 500 mA load, and 110 μ A@ 100 μA load.
Sleep mode: The LP2989 pulls down the shutdown pin when quiescent current is less than 0.8μA.
Error flags: When the built-in error flags become low, the yield drops by about 5%, which is lower than the nominal value.
Precision Output: Guaranteed output voltage accuracy of 0.75% ("A" class) and 1.25% at room temperature (standard grade).
