A8580Designed to meet the power needs of next-generation car audio and infotainment systems, it provides all the control and protection circuitry needed to operate a high-current regulator with an output voltage accuracy of ±1.0%. By utilizing pulse width modulation (PFM), the A8580 can operate at 12 Vinput voltageIt consumes less than 50 μA and supplies 3.3 V/40 μA. After start-up, the A8580 can be at least 3.6 Vinput voltageRun (EntervoltageDown).
Features of the A8580 include PWM/PFMn mode control inputs to enable PWM (logic high) or PFM (logic low). If the PWM/PFMn input is driven by an external clock signal above the base frequency (fOSC), the PWM frequency will be synchronized with the input clock frequency. The SLEEPn input pin controls a very low current shutdown mode at 16 Vinput voltageand at 85ºC, this mode requires at least 5 μA for internal circuitry and 10 μA (max) for MOSFET leakage. The A8580 is compatible with a wide range of frequencies and external components with external compensation, and provides a power-on reset (NPOR) signal with output voltage verification.
The A8580's extensive protection features include pulse-by-pulse current limit, hiccup mode short-circuit protection, open/short-circuit asynchronous diode protection, BOOT open/short-circuit voltage protection, VIN undervoltage lockout, VOUTOvervoltage protection and thermal shutdown.
The A8580 is available in an ultra-thin 16-pin TSSOP package with an exposed power board (suffix LP). The package is lead (Pb) free with 100% matte tin leadframe plating.
