The AD7291 is a 12-bit, high speed, low power, 8-channel, successive approximation ADC with an internal temperature sensor. It operates from a single 3.3V supply and is equipped with I2
C-compatible® interface. The sample-and-hold amplifier can handle input signals up to 50 MHz, while the multiplexer can be used for 8-channel sampling.
Each AD7291 is supplied with I2
C-interface compatible two-wire serial interface. It provides a programmable sequencer to select a pre-programmed channel sequence for conversion. The device has an on-chip 2.5 V reference that can be disabled to allow the use of an external reference.
The AD7291 contains a high precision bandgap temperature sensor that is monitored and digitized by a 12-bit ADC to provide 0.25°C resolution. It uses advanced design techniques to achieve extremely low power consumption at high throughput rates. The device also offers flexible power/throughput management options in a 20-pin LFCSP package.
