The DAC128S085 is a full-featured, general-purpose octal, 12-bit voltage-output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) that can consume 1.95 MW and 4.85 mW 5V from a single +2.7 V to +5.5 V supply. The DAC128S085 is packaged in a 16-pin LLP package and a 16-lead TSSOP package. The LLP package makes the DAC128S085 the smallest octal DAC in its class. The on-chip output amplifier allows rail-to-rail output swing and a three-wire serial interface clock frequency up to 40 MHz over the entire supply voltage range. Competitive devices have limited clock rates of 25 MHz with supply voltages ranging from 2.7 V to 3.6 V. SERIAL INTERFACES COMPATIBLE WITH STANDARD SPI, QSPI, MICROWIRE AND DSP INTERFACES. The DAC128S085 also offers an unlimited number of DAC128S085s that can be used with a single serial interface while updating the daisy-chain operation.
There are two references for the DAC128S085. One reference input is channels A to D, while the other reference services pass you each reference,OKSet up a separate channel at 0.5V and V to provide as much output dynamic range as possible. The DAC128S085 has a 16-bit input shift register that controls the operating mode, power-down condition, and register/output values of the DAC channel. All eight DAC outputs can be updated simultaneously or individually.
A power-on reset circuit ensures that the DAC's output power is up to zero volts and remains until a valid write device is available. The DAC128S085's power-down feature allows each DAC to be powered independently with three different termination options. All DAC channels are powered down and power consumption is reduced to less than 0.3μW at 3V and less than 1μW at 5V. The low power consumption and small package of the DAC128S085 make it an excellent choice for battery-powered devices.
The DAC128S085 is a pin-compatible DAC family that includes the 8-bit DAC088S085 and the 10-bit DAC108S085. All three devices have the same pins, allowing system designers to choose the resolution that fits their application without having to redesign their printed circuit board offerings. The DAC128S085 operates over an extended industrial temperature range of -40°C to +125°C
