DS64BR401 is a bidirectional four-lane signal conditioning trunk for SATA/SAS and other high-speed bus applications with data rates up to 6.4 Gbps for 6.0/3.0/1.5 Gbps SATA/SAS and other high-speed buses. The device performs receive equalization and transmit to weight its 8 channels to compensate for lost channels, allowing maximum flexibility in physical location within a system. The receiver's Continuous Time Linear Equalizer (CTLE) provides a boost of up to 3 GHz to 33 dB and is open to the input eyes that are completely enclosed due to intersymbolic interference (ISI) caused by the interconnect medium. The transmitter has a programmable output de-emphasis driver and allows the selected amplitude voltage level from MVP-P 600 to 1200 MVP-P to suit a variety of application scenarios. This low-power differential signaling (LPDS) output driver is an efficient implementation of power, maintaining compatibility with AC-coupled CML receivers. It can be applied to programmable settings via pin settings or SMBus interface.
For seamless upgrades, data rates from SAS/SATA 3.0 Gbps to 6.0 Gbps without compromising the body are reached, DS64BR401 automatically detect the input speed of the data and select the optimal deweighting pulse width. The device detects an out-of-band (OOB) SAS/SATA specification idle and positive signal and is transmitted with the lowest signal distortion.
DS64BR401 is a typical power consumption of 200 mW/channel (100 mW/channel) at 6.4 Gbps, and controls, shuts off unused channels, as part of the PowerWise family of energy-efficient devices nationwide
