illustrate
The LM2990 three-terminal, low dropout, 1 amp negative voltage regulator has fixed output voltages of -5, -5.2, -12, and -15V.
The LM2990 uses new circuit design techniques to provide low dropout and low quiescent current. The low dropout voltage of 1A load current is typically 0.6V and a worst-case maximum of 1V over the entire operating temperature range. Typical quiescent current is 1A, load current, and 1 mA input-output voltage difference is greater than 3V. A unique circuit design with an internal bias supply limits the quiescent current to only 9 mA (typical) when regulated dropout mode(VOUT-V IN ≤ 3V)。 Output voltage accuracy is guaranteed to be ± 5% full load and extreme temperatures.
The LM2990 is short-circuit protected and thermally shut down to improve equipment reliability during long periods of heavy load, including hysteresis. The LM2990 is a 3-pin TO-220 package rated for -40°C to +125°C operation over the automotive temperature range
