illustrate
The LM185-2.5/LM285-2.5/LM385-2.5 are micro-2-terminal bandgap voltage regulator diodes. Operating from a current range of 20 μA to 20 mA, they feature very low dynamic impedance and good temperature stability. On-chip trimming is used to provide tight voltage tolerances. Since the LM-185 - 2.5 bandgap reference uses only transistors and resistors, low noise and good long-term stability.
The LM185-2.5 has been carefully designed to make this device exceptionally tolerant of capacitive loads, so it is easy to use for almost any reference application. Wide dynamic working range of a wide variety allows the use of products with excellent regulation.
The LM185-2.5 has extremely low power consumption making it useful for microcircuits. This reference voltage can be used to manufacture portable meters, regulatory agencies or general purpose analog circuits with battery life close to shelf life. In addition, the wide operating current allows it to replace the tighter tolerances of some old references. For applications that require 1.2V see LM185 - 1.2.
The LM185-2.5 is rated to operate in the -55°C to 125°C temperature range, while the LM285-2.5 is rated at -40°C to 85°C and LM385-2.5 0°C to 70°C. The LM185-2.5/LM285-2.5 is available in a sealed TO-46 package and the LM285-2.5/LM385-2.5 is also available in low-cost TO-92 molded packaging, as well as SO and SOT-23. The LM185-2.5 is also available in a hermetically sealed leadless chip carrier package.
