Product Introduction

AD7989-1

18-bit, successive approximation analog-to-digital converter (ADC) powered by a single-supply VDD. It has a built-in low-power, high-speed, 18-bit sampling ADC and a versatile serial interface port. At the rising edge of the CNV, the AD7989-1/AD7989-5 samples the voltage difference between the IN+ and IN- pins, which typically swing between 0 V and VREF in opposite phases. The voltage reference (REF) is provided externally and can be independent of the supply voltage (VDD). Power consumption and throughput rate change linearly.

The SPI-compatible serial interface also uses SDI inputs to daisy-chain several ADCs to a single-three-wire bus. It is compatible with 1.8 V, 2.5 V, 3 V, or 5 V logic when using a stand-alone VIO.

The AD7989-1/AD7989-5 are available in a 10-pin MSOP or 10-pin LFCSP package and are rated for an operating temperature range of −40°C to +85°C.
