The AD8156 is part of the Xstream family, a high speed, fully differential digital interchangeFork switch。 The device can be used as a 4 × 4 crosspoint switch with dual latchingmemorizer, allowing simultaneous updates; Or as a dual-channel 2 × 2 crosspoint switch with direct output control. In addition, it has low power consumption characteristics; Typical power consumption is 700 mW when operating from a 3.3 V supply with all output and input equalizers active. It can operate at any data rate from DC to 6.25 Gbps (per port).
Each input channel of the AD8156 contains a programmable input equalizer to compensate for backplane signal loss.
The high speed inputs of the AD8156 are compatible with ac- and dc-coupled 3.3 V, 2.5 V, or 1.8 V CML, and 3.3 V LVPECL data levels. The control interface is LVTTL and LVCMOS compatible (3.3 V). To simplify layout and minimize impedance mismatches, the device also integrates all necessary input and output termination resistors. Input equalizers and unused outputs can be individually disabled to minimize power consumption.
The AD8156 is available in 49-lead, 8 mm × 8 mm, BGA packages with a 1 mm lead pitch; The industrial temperature range is −40°C to 85°C.
