The HMC725 is an XOR/XNOR gate designed to support data rates up to 13 Gbps and clock frequencies up to 13 GHz. All signals entering the HMC725 are terminated to on-chip ground through a 50-Ω resistor and can be either AC or DC coupled. The differential outputs of the HMC725LC3C can be either AC or DC coupled.
The output can be connected directly to a 50 Ω ground-terminated system, while DC blocking capacitors can be used if 50 Ω terminated to an ungrounded DC voltage. The HMC725 operates from a single -3.3 V DC supply and consumes only 230 mW in a RoHS-compliant 3x3 mm SMT ceramic package.
