The LMF100 consists of two independent universal high performance switching capacitive filters. With an external clock and 2 to 4 resistors, various second- and first-order filtration functions enable each filter block. Each block has 3 outputs. One output can be configured to perform or an all-through, high-pass, or notch function. The other two perform bandpass and low-pass output functions. The center frequency of each filter is the use of an external clock or a combination of clock and resistivity during the tuning phase. Up to the 4th order double quadratic function, it can be realized with a single LMF100. High-order filters are implemented through simple cascading of additional packages, as well as all classical filters such as Butterworth, Bessel, Oval, and Chebyshev.

The LMF100 is a fabricated high-performance analog silicon gate CMOS process from National Semiconductor, LMCMOS™. This allows for the production of building blocks with a very low offset, high frequency filter. The LMF100 is pin-compatible with the industry-standard MF10 pin but offers greatly improved performance.
