description
™The LT 1039 is a triple RS232 driver/receiver that includes shutdown. Each receiver will accept up to ± 30V input and can drive TTL or CMOS logic. RS232 drivers accept TTL logic input and output RS232 voltage levels. The output is fully protected against overload and can be short-circuited to ground or up to ± 30V without damaging the driver. In addition, when the system is turned off or the power is off, the output is in a high-impedance state, allowing data line sharing. Bipolar circuitry makes this driver/receiver exceptionally robust, resistant to overload and immune lockout.
The bias pin allows one receiver to go on while the rest is off.
The LT1039 is a 16-pin version that can also function in the No Power Off or BIAS pins.
For applications that require operation from a single 5V supply, refer to the LT1080/LT1081, LT1180A/LT1181A, and LT1130A datasheets. For applications requiring 15kV ESD protection, see the LT1039A.
