Both devices are optimized for 5V single-supply operation. The specifications are also available with ± 15V power supply. The extremely low supply current is combined with true precision specifications: offset voltage of 30μV, offset currentis 50pA. These two offset parameters drift with low temperature. 1.5pAp - P-current noise and picoampere cancellation currently allow the use of megaohm-level source resistors without causing serious errors. Voltage noise, 0.9μVp-P, is very low supply current. The LT1178 and LT1179 can be operated from a single power supply (one lithium battery or two nickel-cadmium batteries low). The input range is below ground. All NPN output stages fluctuate within a few millivolts of ground and a sinking currentno power pull-down resistor is necessary. Three times higher supply current is acceptable, single micro LT1077, LT1078 dual and LT1079 four recommendations. The LT1077/78/79 has significantly higher bandwidth, slew rate, low voltage noise, and better output drive capability.
