™The LT 1307/LT1307B micro, fixed-frequency DC/DC converter operates from input voltages as low as 1V. First, it demonstrates true PWM current mode in the industry, enabling automatic shifting of the LT1307 from a single cell to power-saving burst mode operation under light load. Maintain high efficiency over a wide range of 100μA to 100mA load range. The LT1307B does not move to burst mode operation, eliminating low-frequency output ripple at the expense of efficiency at light loads. The device contains a low-cell detector with a 200mV reference and a shutdown of less than 5μA. The no-load LT1307 has a quiescent current of 50μA and an internal NPN power switch handling with a voltage drop of only 295mV and a current of 500mA.

Unlike competing devices, large aluminum electrolytic capacitors do not need to be used with the LT1307/LT1307B in single-cell applications. High frequency (600KHz) switching, allowing the use of tiny surface-mount multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCs) for small surface-mount inductors. The devices only work with a 10μF output capacitor and only need the input bypass 1μF.
