Two operating modes, read (RD) mode and write-to-read (WR-RD) mode, allow the processor to interface with ease-of-use. All timing is internal and edge sensitive, eliminating the need for external pulse shaping circuitry. Stand-alone mode (S/A) is designed to facilitate applications that do not involve a single processor. Data output latches three-state control to facilitate the data bus or I/O port of the interface processor. The overflow output (OFL) is provided with a higher resolution to allow cascading.
