description
ISL23418 is a volatile, low-voltage, low-noise, low-power, SPI™ bus, 128-tap, single digital control potentiometer (DCP) that integrates the DCP core, wiper switch, and controls the logic in a monolithic CMOS integrated circuit. Digitally controlled potentiometer resistive elements and CMOS switches are implemented in combination. The tap position is controlled by the user via the SPI bus interface. The potentiometer has an associated Volatile Wiper Registration (WR) that can be written and read directly to the user. The content of the West Iron controls the position of the wipers. When powered on, ISL23418 wipers always start at a medium size (64-tap position). The low voltage, low power consumption, and small package size of the ISL23418 make it ideal for use in battery-powered devices. ISL23418 has a V-logic pin that allows the operation of the bus down to 1.2V, independent of the CC value from V. This allows the DCP to be used in a variety of applications, including as a three-terminal potentiometer or double-ended variable resistor control, and the parameters can be connected directly without a voltage level translator, ISL23418 to low logic levels.
