The DS90UR905Q/906Q chips convert into a high-speed serial interface through a pair of parallel RGB video interfaces. This greatly simplifies serial bus planning by eliminating skew issues between clock and data, system design, lower connector pin count, lower interconnect size, weight, and cost, simplifying PCB and overall layout. In addition, internal DC-balanced decoding is used to support AC-coupled interconnects.
The DS90UR905Q Series (serial) embeds a clock to balance the payload of data, and horizontally transition signals to high-speed, low-voltage differential signals. Up to 24 input sequences with three video control signals. It supports full 24-bit color or 18-bit color and 6 general-purpose signals such as audio I2S applications.
The DS90UR906Q DES (Deserializer) recovers data (RGB) and control signals and extracts clocks from the serial data stream. It is able to lock input data streams that do not have a special training sequence or use SYNC mode, and do not require a reference clock. A link-state (LOCK) output signal is provided.
Serial transmission is optimized for user-selectable de-emphasis, differential output level selecting, and receiver equalization. EMI minimized low-voltage differential signal transmission, receiver drive strength control, spread spectrum clock compatible use. In Germany may be configured to produce a spread spectrum clock and parallel output of data.
The DS90UR905Q (SER) is available in a 48-pin LLP and the DS90UR906Q is available in a 60-pin LLP package. They are specified in automotive AEC-Q100 grade 2 with a temperature range of -40°C to +105°C.
