description
The ISL1591 provides four internal wideband op amps intended for use with two fixed gain differential line drivers. The ISL1591s high bandwidth and ultra-low distortion enable VDSL2 support for 8B, 17A, 30A modem applications in central offices. This highly flexible line driver can operate from a nominal supply of +14 V to +24 V while providing excellent MTPR distortion performance. Using a single +24 V supply, the distortion of the ISL1591 MBPR is lower than that of -62dBc VDSL2 8B, -63dBc VDSL2 17A, and -60dBc in VDSL2 30A profiles. Using a single +14 V supply, the ISL1591 supports 14.5dBm VDSL2 17A and 30A models with only 425mW of power consumption. This capability is short-cycle, high-bitrate 14.5dBm transmit power and is ideal for all applications requiring VDSL2. With a full VDSL2 8B profile and 20dBm transmit power, the line driver will require a single +24 V supply. 4The internal op amp is a wideband current feedback amplifier that offers a very high slew rate and is designed with low quiescent current levels inherently. Every two pairs of amplifiers (ports) can also optimize the application to use two external static control logic pins for power. The full power nominal 14mA/port option is reduced to 9.7mA/port, with headroom at 7.4mA/port and 360mA peak output current at low power. The difference in driving, which gives the 58Ω differential load a low > 42.4V polypropylene swing. The ISL1591's four amplifiers are intended for differential pairs, not as separate amplifiers
