ISL6364A is a dual PWM controller; Its 4-phase PWMs-controlled microprocessor core or memory voltageregulator, while its single-phase PWM-controlled graphics, system agent, or processor I/O peripheralvoltage regulation ISL6364A uses Intersil's proprietary Enhanced ActivePulse Positioning (EAPP) modulation scheme to achieve extremely fast transient response with fewer output capacitors. ISL6364A design complies with Intel VR12/IMVP7specifications. It accurately monitors the load current through theIMON pin and reports more and better microprocessors through the IOUT register, which sends a PSI #signal controllerat through the SVID bus low power mode, through this information. The controller's low-power mode (PSI1) enters the OR2 phase of 1 for operation; Ultra-low power mode (PSI2,3), it operates with the single-phase diodeemulation option. In low-power mode, the magnetic core andswitching losses are significantly reduced, producing high efficiency at light loads. After the PSI# signal is escalated, the dropped phase (S) is added back to maintain the reloadtransient response and efficiency. In addition, the ISL6364Afeatures automatic phase shedding without sacrificingthe transient performance of optimized efficiency fromlight to full load in green environments. Today's microprocessors require a strictly regulated output voltageposition with load current (sag). The ISL6364A sensory of theoutput is a continuous measurement of the DCR of the outputinductor across the adedicated current detection resistance or voltage. The FB pin that senses the outflow of the current develops into a drop at both ends of the droopcontrol aprecision feedback resistor. Current detection also provides information on forchannel current balance, average overcurrent protection, and individual phase current limits. TM and TMS pins sense the temperature of the anNTC thermistor, which is an element of domestic digital forthermal monitoring and thermal compensation for the current detection of the respective voltage regulators. ISL6364A has remote voltage sensing and completelyeliminates any potential difference between remote and localgrounds. This improves the accuracy of regulation and protection.
