The ISL6364A is a dual PWM controller; Its 4-phase PWMscontrol microprocessor core or memory voltageregulator, while its single-phase PWM-controlled graphics, system agent, or processor I/O peripheral voltage regulation of the ISL6364A uses Intersil's proprietary Enhanced ActivePulse positioning (EAPP) modulation scheme to achieve extremely fast transient response with fewer output capacitors. The ISL6364A is designed to comply with Intel VR12/IMVP7 specifications. It accurately monitors the load current through the IMON pin and reports the IOUT register to bring more and better to the microprocessor, which sends a PSI # signal to the controllerat through the SVID bus low-power mode through this information. The controller's low-power mode (PSI1) enters OR2 phase operation of 1; Ultra-low power mode (PSI2,3), which operates in single-phase diodeemulation option. In low-power mode, core andswitching losses are significantly reduced, producing high efficiency at light loads. After the PSI# signal is pulled up, the dropped stage(s) is added back to maintain heavy loadtransient response and efficiency. In addition, the ISL6364Afeatures automatic phase shedding without sacrificingthe transient performance optimizes the efficiency from light to full load in green environments. Today's microprocessors require a tightly regulated output voltageposition and load current (sagg). The ISL6364A Sensory theoutput currently continuously measures DCR across adedicated current sense resistance or voltage outputinductor. The FB pin that induces the flow of current to develop a voltage drop across the droopcontrol aprecision feedback resistor. Current sensing also provides information on channel current balance, average overcurrent protection, and individual phase current limiting. TM and TMS pin-sensing anNTC thermistors are temperature sensing elements, which are domestic digital forthermal monitoring and synthesis of thermally compensated national tax generation current detection of respective voltage regulators. The ISL6364A has remote voltage sensing and completelyeliminates potential difference between any remote and localgrounds. This improves the accuracy of regulation and protection.
