The LMH0387 chip provides a single chip interface for the BNC with 3 Gbps HD/SD SDI configurable I/O Adaptive Cable Equalizer/Cable Driver. The device can be configured to receive data via coaxial cable as a cable driver as a cable driver or in data input mode in output mode. The same I/O pins are used for both input and output functions of the device, giving system designers the flexibility to use the BNC as input or output connected to the device.
The LMH0387 chip provides designers with flexibility in system design and faster time to market. The device operates at a wide range of data rates from 125 Mbps to 2.97 Gbps (DC to 2.97 Gbps cable while driving), and supports SMPTE 424M, SMPTE 292M, SMPTE 344M and SMPTE 259M. Return loss network integration devices so that no external components must comply with SMPTE return loss specifications.
In input mode, the LMH0387 chip's features include power-saving sleep mode, programmable output common-mode voltage and swing, cable length indication, start-up amplitude optimization, input signal detection, and SPI interface. In output mode, the LMH0387 chip's features include two SMPTE 424M/292M and SMPTE 259M drive supplies that comply with selectable slew rates and yield drop control.
The device is available in a 7 × 7 mm 48-pin thin laminated chip scale package (TCSP).
