The TPS4005x is a high-voltage, wide-input home (8 V to 40 V), synchronous, step-down converter. The TPS4005x series offers user-programmable features including soft-start, undervoltage lockout, operating frequency, voltage feedforward, high-side current limiting, loop compensation, and flexibility in various designs.

The TPS4005x is also synchronized to an external power supply. They use an external N-channel high-side and a synchronous rectifier (SR) MOSFET gate driver for the MOSFET. A drive logic gate reverse circuit is used to prevent cross-conduction, synchronous high-side, and synchronous rectifier conduction.

The TPS4005x uses voltage feedforward control technology to provide a wide (4:1) input voltage range with good linear adjustment, fast response with input variants, and it simplifies loop compensation for constant gain and input voltage transients around it.
