The AD8153 is a protocol-independent, asynchronous, single 2:1 switch with three differential CML inputs and three differential CML outputs. The AD8159 is another product in the Xstream family for similar applications requiring multiple channels.
The AD8153 is optimized for NRZ signaling with data rates up to 3.2 Gbps per port. Each port provides 2 levels of input equalization and 4 levels of output pre-emphasis.
The device contains a 2:1 multiplexer and a 1:2 demultiplexer and offers three modes of operation: pin-mode, serial-mode, and mixed mode. In pin mode, channel switching, equalization, and pre-emphasis can only be controlled using external pins. In serial mode, the device can be controlled through an I2C interface and advanced features such as additional pre-emphasis settings and output enable are accessible. In mixed mode, users can take advantage of I2The C interface accesses advanced features, but controls the channel through external pinsswitch。
The AD8153 is primarily designed to support backplane and line interface side redundancy of serial links. The device has unicast and bicast capabilities, so it supports 1+1 or 1:1 redundancy.
It can also be utilized when mixing dualcast and autoloop modesAD8153to test the high-speed serial link by copying the input data and then transmitting it to both the destination port and the test device.
