The HMC706LC3C is oneNRZ-RZ converter, designed to support data transfer rates up to 13 Gbps and clock frequencies up to 13 GHz. In normal operation, RZ data is transferred to the output at the positive edge of the clock. Inverting the clock input supports negative edge triggering applications. All signals entering the HMC706LC3C are terminated to the on-chip Vcc at 50 Ω and can be AC- or DC-coupled.
The differential outputs of the HMC706LC3C can be either AC or DC coupled. The output can be connected directly to a 50 Ω Vcc termination system, whereas DC blocking capacitors can be used if 50 Ω terminated to a non-Vcc DC voltage. The 50 Ω termination resistor is bypassed from Vcc to ground on the chip. The HMC706LC3C operates from a single +3.3V DC supply and is available in a RoHS-compliant 3x3 mm SMT ceramic package.
