description
ISL23428 is a volatile, low-voltage, low-noise, low-power, 128-tap, dual-digitally controlled potentiometer (DCP) SPI bus ™ interface. It integrates two DCP cores, wiper switches and control logic in a monolithic CMOS integrated circuit. Each digital control potentiometer is implemented by a combination of resistive elements and CMOS switches. The position of the wipers is controlled by the user via the SPI bus interface. Each potentiometer has an associated volatile wiper registration (WRI, I = 0,1) that can write and read directly to the user. WRI content controls the position of the wipers. When powered on, each DCP wiper will always start at the medium scale (64 tap positions), low voltage, low power consumption, small package ISL23428, making it ideal for use with battery-powered devices. In addition, the ISL23428 has a V logic pin that allows for the operation of the 1.2V bus, from V independent CC values. This allows the DCP to be used in a variety of applications, including as a three-terminal potentiometer or as a two-ended variable resistor control, where parameters can be directly connected without being connected via a voltage level converter, ISL23428 to low logic levels.
