illustrate
The LM2742 is a high speed, synchronous, switching regulator controller. It is designed to control 0.7A current 20A with a conversion efficiency of up to 95%. Power supply up and down sequencing implements power good flags, adjustable soft-start, and output enable functions. The LM2742 operates from a low current 5V bias voltage and can be converted from a 1V to a 16V rail. The device uses a fixed-frequency, voltage-mode, PWM control architecture with adjustable switching frequency by setting an external resistor from 50kHz to 2MHz. Current limit is achieved by monitoring a voltage drop across the low-side MOSFET, which can be folded at 40ns, the industry's leader in first-order on-resistance. Fine-tuning component size, cost, efficiency, noise, and flexibility for power supply designers operating over a wide frequency range. An adaptive non-overlapping MOSFET gate driver and high-side guidance architecture help further improve efficiency. The drain voltage of the high-side power FET can be from 1V to 16V, and the output voltage can be adjusted down to 0.6V.
