The LM2832 regulator is a monolithic, high frequency, PWM step-down DC/DC converter in a 6-pin LLP and 8-pin eMSOP package. It offers all the positive features, providing fast transient response and precise adjustment of local DC/DC conversion with minimal PCB area. With minimal external components, the LM2832 is easy to use. Drive capability with internal 150 meters with 2.0A load The PMOS switch uses state-of-the-art equipment and the best power density technology available for the state-of-the-art 0.5 micron BiCMOS process. World-class control circuitry achieves chip multiples to a low 30ns to support very high output voltages that are reduced to a minimum of 0.6V over the entire conversion 3V to 5.5V input operating voltage range. The switching frequency is internally set to 550 kHz, and 1.6 MHz or 3.0 MHz allows the use of very small surface mount inductors and chip capacitors. Even at high operating frequencies, efficiencies of up to 93% are easily achievable. External shutdown is included, consisting of an ultra-low current with independent 30 nA. The LM2832 adopts functions such as current mode control and internal compensation, and is highly stable in a wide range of operating conditions. Other features include internal soft-start circuitry to reduce inrush current, pulse pass pulse current limiting, thermal shutdown, and overvoltage protection output.
