illustrate
The LP38856 is a high current, fast response regulator that maintains output regulation with extremely low input and output voltage drop. Manufactured in a CMOS process, the device operates from two input voltages: VBIASProvides the internal bias and control circuitry for the power supply, as well as the gate driver for the N-MOS power transistor when VINThe power supply supplies power to the load. The use of an externally biased railway allows partial operation in ultraINLow voltage V. Unlike bipolar regulators, the CMOS architecture dissipates very low quiescent current at any output load. With an N-MOS power wide bandwidth but minimal external capacitance, transistors are used to maintain loop stability.
The device's fast transient response allows it to be used after powering the DSP, the core voltage of the microcontroller, and the switching power supply regulator. The LP38856 is available in TO-220 and TO-263 5-pin packages.
Differential pressure: 240 mV (typical) load current at 3A.
Low ground pin current: 14 mA (typical) load current at 3A.
Shutdown current: 1μA (typical) IIN(GND),When the EN pin is low.
High accuracy output voltage: ±1.0%TJ = 25°C and ± 2.0°C 0% ≤ TJ ≤ +125°C in all line and load conditions
