The LP38856 is a high-current, fast-response regulator that keeps the output with extremely low input-output voltage drop voltage regulation. Fabricated in the CMOS process, the device operates on two input voltages: the internal bias and control circuitry that provides power to the V BIAS, and the gate driver for the N-MOS power transistor when the V IN power supply supplies power to the load. The use of external bias rails allows partially to work at ultra-IN voltage low V. With bipolar regulators, the power consumption CMOS architecture provides very low quiescent current at any output load current. With an N-MOS power wide bandwidth but minimal external capacitance, the transistor uses the effect of maintaining loop stability.

The device's fast transient response allows it to be used after powering the DSP, the core voltage of the microcontroller, and the switching power supply regulator. The LP38856 is available in TO-220 and TO-263 5-pin packages.
