illustrate
The DP83848I is a full-featured single-port 10/100 physical layer device offering a strong power supply under low power consumption, including some of the smart power supplies. These low-power modes improve overall product reliability due to reduced power consumption. Support for multiple smart power modes allows applications to use the minimum amount of absolute power required to run. In addition to low power, the DP83848I optimizes cable length far beyond IEEE specifications.
The DP83848I includes a 25MHz clock output. This means that the application can in turn result in a design with the fewest external components in the lowest possible total cost solution.
The DP83848I is easily connected to an external transformer via twisted pair media and fully supports the JTAG IEEE specification for easy manufacturing of 1149.1. Two other MIFs and RMII support ensure ease of use and design flexibility.
Sublayer functionality integrated in DP83848I supports both 10BASE-T and 100Base-TX Ethernet protocols to ensure compatibility and interoperability with all other standard Ethernet solutions.
The DP83848I is necessary to provide a small form factor (48-pin LQFP), thus minimizing board space.
