illustrate
The DAC108S085 is a full-featured, universal octal 10-bit output digital analog converter (DAC) that can operate from a single +2.7 V to +5.5 V supply with a power consumption of 1.95 mW and a 5V voltage of 4.85 mW at 3V. The DAC108S085 is available in a 16-pin LLP package and a 16-pin TSSOP package. The LLP package enables DAC108S085 the smallest octal DAC in its class. The on-chip output amplifier allows rail-to-rail output swing and a three-wire serial interface with an operating clock frequency of up to 40 MHz over the entire supply voltage range. Competition is limited, with devices clocking in the range of 2.7V to 3.6V with a supply voltage of 25 MHz. Serial interfaces are compatible with standard SPI, QSPI, MICROWIRE, and DSP interfaces. The DAC108S085 also provides daisy-chaining for an unlimited number of DAC108S085s, which can be updated simultaneously using a single serial interface.
There are two for DAC108S085 references. A reference input A to D channel is provided as a reference, and each reference can be independently set to one between 0.5V and V through the other channels to provide the widest possible output dynamic range. The DAC108S085 has a 16-bit input shift register that controls operation, power-down state mode, and DAC channel roster/output values. All eight DAC outputs can be updated simultaneously or individually.
A power supply ensures that the DAC's output power reaches zero volts, which is retained until there is an effective write operation to the device power-on reset circuit. The DAC108S085 power saving feature allows each DAC to stand independently with three different terminal options pages. Power-off with all DAC channels, power consumption is reduced to less than 0.3 microwatts at 3V and 5V to less than 1 microwatt. The low power consumption and small package DAC108S085 make it the best choice for use in battery-powered devices.
The DAC108S085 is a pin-compatible DAC that includes an 8-bit DAC088S085 and one of the 12-bit DAC128S085 families. All three devices offer the same lead-outs, eliminating the need for system designers to redesign their own printed circuit board resolution for the appropriate application. The DAC108S085 operates over an extended -40°C industrial temperature range of 125°C
