description
LT®
The 1372/LT1377 are monolithic high frequency switching regulators. They operate in all standard switching configurations, including boost, buck, flyback, feed-forward, inverting, and "Cuk". The silicon includes a 1.5A high-efficiency switch and all oscillator, control and protection circuitry. All features of the LT1372/LT1377 are integrated in an 8-lead SO/PDIP package.
The LT1372/LT1377 typically have only 4mA quiescent current and are more efficient than previous devices. High-frequency switching allows the use of very small inductors. All surface-mount components occupy less than 0.5 square inches of board area.
New design techniques increase flexibility while maintaining ease of use. The switching circuitry is easily synchronized to an external logic-level signal source. Applying a logic low on the shutdown pin reduces the supply current to 12μA. A unique error amplifier circuit adjusts the positive or negative output voltage while maintaining simple frequency compensation techniques. The transconductance of the nonlinearity error amplifier reduces output overshoot at startup or overload recovery.
