The LTC ® 1622 is a constant frequency current mode step-down DC/DC controller that provides excellent AC and DC load and line regulation. The device integrates an accurate undervoltage function to turn off the LTC1622 when the input voltage drops below 2V.
The LTC1622 has a ± 1.9% output voltage accuracy and consumes only 350μA quiescent current. Where efficiency is the most important consideration and load current varies from light to heavy applications, the LTC1622 can be configured for Burst Mode ™ operation. Burst Mode operation improves current efficiency and extends battery runtime. Burst Mode operation is suppressed during synchronization or when the SYNC/MODE pin is pulled low to reduce noise and possible RF interference.
The high constant operating frequency of 550kHz allows the use of a small size inductor. The device can also be synchronized to 750kHz for special applications. High frequency operation, available in 8-lead MSOP packages, high performance solution in very small board area.
To further extend the life of the battery power, the P-channel MOSFET turn-on (100% duty cycle) is continuous. In shutdown mode, the device consumes only 15μA.
