description
The LTC®6801 is a multi-cell monitoring IC that includes a 12-bit ADC, an accurate independent voltage reference, a sample comparator, and a high-voltage input multiplexer. LTC6801 Monitors overvoltage, undervoltage, and overheating of up to 12 series battery packs and indicates whether the batteries are within the specified parameters. When there is no fault condition, LTC6801 will produce a clock output. Differential clocks provide high noise immunity and ensure that there is no battery pack failure that cannot be detected due to signal locking at a certain level or due to a short circuit.
Each LTC6801 is capable of operating at battery pack voltages up to 60V, and multiple LTC6801 devices can be stacked to monitor each cell in a long series of series. When multiple devices are stacked, each LTC6801 of the state signals can be daisy-chained (without the need for optocouplers or optoisolators), providing a single state output for the entire battery string.
LTC6801 Configurable with external pin laps. Adjustable overvoltage and undervoltage thresholds support different lithium-ion battery chemistries. The optional measurement time allows the user to save power.
