A8651is an adjustable frequency, high output current PWM regulator that combines high-side P-channel MOSFETs with low-side N-channel MOSFETs. The A8651 integrates current-mode control to provide simple compensation, excellent loop stability, and fast transient response. The A8651 is compatible with a wide range of power components with external compensation to optimize transient response without compromising stability.A8651The input voltage can be adjusted from 2.5 to 5.5 V, providing output voltages as low as 0.8 V and load currents of at least 2 A.
Features of the A8651 include an externally adjustable and synchronizable switching frequency, an externally programmed soft-start time to minimize ingress current, a separate EN input, and a separate NPOR output with a delay of 7.5 ms. The A8651 control circuit draws less than 5 μA in sleep mode.
Protection features include VIN undervoltage lockout (UVLO), pulse-by-pulse overcurrent protection (OCP), hiccup mode short-circuit protection (HIC), overvoltage protection (OVP), and thermal shutdown (TSD). In addition, the A8651 provides open- and adjacent pin short-circuit protection, and short-to-ground protection on each pin to meet the most demanding automotive applications.
The A8651 is available in a 20-pin TSSOP package (suffix LP) with an exposed heatsink plate for enhanced thermal functionality. The package is lead (Pb) free with 100% matte tin leadframe plating.
