illustrate
The DS485 is a low-power transceiver for RS-485 and RS-422 communications. The device contains a driver and a receiver. The driver slew rate allows (see application information section) operation up to 2.5 Mbps.
The transceiver plots a 200 μA current supply at no load or full load with a disabled driver and operates from a single +5 V supply.
The driver is short-circuit current limiting, protection against excessive power loss, thermal shutdown circuitry, and putting the TRI-STATE ® (high-impedance state) into the driver output during fault conditions. The driver guarantees a maximum load of a differential output voltage of 1.5V over the entire common-mode range (V OD3).
The receiver is fault-protected to guarantee a high output of logic if the input is open.
The DS485 is available in surface-mount and DIP packages featuring operation over the commercial and industrial temperature ranges.
