illustrate
The LM22680 series of regulators are monolithic integrated circuits that enable step-down (buck) switching regulators to drive loads up to 2A with excellent line and load regulation characteristics. The high efficiency (> 90%) is achieved by using a low-resistance N-channel MOSFET.
The SIMPLE SWITCHER ® concept provides an easy-to-use complete design with minimal number of external components and National Semiconductor's WEBENCH ® design tools. National Semiconductor's WEBENCH ® tools include features such as external component calculations, electrical simulation, thermal simulation, and simple design, build, and other boards. The switching clock frequency is made by an internal fixed-frequency oscillator, which is 500 kHz. The switching frequency can also be adjusted by an external resistor or by external clock synchronization up to 1MHz. It can also automatically synchronize multiple regulators to share the same switching frequency. LM22680 series also features built-in thermal shutdown, current limiting, and enable control inputs that can adjust up and down quiescent current standby status with a low power of 25μA. An adjustable soft-start function is by selecting the appropriate external soft-start capacitor.
